This 2-hour workshop is all about intention setting and shifting your vision for the future. This is not a yoga workshop. We will discuss the importance of setting new intentions for the year and learn how to meditate and manifest on what you want to bring in to your life. We will also share ideas for vision board creating as well as other fun activities to motivate each of us to start the new year and the beginning of a new decade on the right foot.

The only pre-requisite required for this workshop is the willingness to want to make a positive change in your life.

Open Your Heart – Learn to Love Backbends

February is the month of love and what better time to use your yoga practice to connect with your heart. In this 90 minute workshop, you will learn how to use and integrate your muscles to keep you safe and strong in backbends. We will explore a heart-opening practice with back-bending postures to help strengthen your spine while creating more mobility in your back. This workshop is suitable for all levels.

If you have ever taken a Vinyasa or Flow yoga class then you have done Suryanamaskar A or what is otherwise known as a sun salutation. It includes asanas such as Downward Facing Dog, Chaturanga and Cobra or Upward Facing Dog. These poses, when repeated over time, if done out of proper alignment, can cause unnecessary stress and potential harm to the body.
In this workshop we will be deconstructing each of the poses in Sury A to help students get a better understanding of how these poses are meant to feel in the body while offering alternatives and modifications that work best for your body. We will explore exercises and techniques to help build strength in the body to enable you to transition from each of the challenging poses in a safe and effective manner.
This workshop is suitable for all levels.

Spring Detox – Time of Renewal

Spring is the best time for cleansing. Time to get rid of all that we held onto during the cold, hibernating winter months. This workshop will be broken down into 2 parts. The first 45 minutes will consist of a detox practice containing twists and binds to help the body naturally eliminate toxins and release what it no longer needs. In the second half of the workshop, you will learn about safe ways to supplement your detox journey and receive guidance on supported cleanses and ways to change your diet to kickstart a healthier lifestyle.

The Magic of Bandhas – Core Strength

How do I jump thru and jump back? When will I float? The seemingly magic of bandhas that allows us to fly is a gradual process that is developed over time with steady practice. A bandha is a “body lock”. In this workshop, we will explore the Mula Bandha, contraction of the perineum (“root lock”) as well as the Uddiyana Bandha, contraction of the abdomen into the rib cage and, more specifically, learn how to apply these bandhas to the practice to help the body take flight.

Take Your Practice Upside Down – Headstands

This uplifting workshop will help you discover everything you need to know to turn your practice upside down. The thought of going upside down can be very daunting to many, and as such, students may not even know where to begin. This workshop is a good place to start. This 90-minute workshop is designed to help students discover how to prepare their body and mind for both the simple and more challenging variations of headstand and to approach them with confidence and the necessary tools to take back into your daily practice.
